Probiotics are live microorganisms. You will see plenty of bottles with a large number on the front, but that is only part of the picture. The particular organisms matter too. This formula names its four strains, giving you something more specific to look at when comparing your options.
Prebiotics have a different role: they are substances used by microorganisms. Here, the prebiotic is fructooligosaccharide, usually called FOS. There are 24 mg in each serving, so it still makes sense to keep fiber-rich foods on your plate.

Does the research you have heard about apply to this bottle? Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are two widely studied groups of probiotic bacteria, but studies look at particular strains, doses and combinations. That is why it helps to look beyond the total CFU count and read the strain codes too.
The details of the formula matter.
A small 2022 randomized trial containing La-14 and Lp-115 reported improvements in formed stools and bowel satisfaction. Other measured outcomes were not significantly different. The trial also used a different third strain and 2.4 grams of FOS daily, so it is not evidence that this bottle delivers the same results. Read the trial.

In a placebo-controlled study of 40 healthy adults, 2.5–10 grams of short-chain FOS daily increased measured bifidobacteria. This formula contains 24 mg FOS per serving, a different amount; the study does not establish that effect at this dose. Read the FOS study.
When you are deciding what to try, those differences deserve a clear explanation. We have not located a human clinical trial of this exact finished formula. The studies help explain the ingredients, but they cannot tell us that this bottle will relieve bloating, change your bowel habits or give you a result by a particular day.
